Wow, Switzerland is just one of the most incredible countries I have ever been to. I’ve travelled quite extensively throughout Europe and have lived in a few countries in Europe, also spending quite a bit of time in Asia and Australia, but spending a long weekend in Switzerland was a unique experience and has left a long lasting impression on me.
I suppose you become a little nonchalant at times when you travel a lot, which can be a good and bad thing. It makes it much easier to explore new places, feeling less fear (especially when travelling alone) and more open to random events unfolding in front of you. On the other hand you forget to realise the beauty of the places that you’re lucky enough to visit, sometimes it takes me up to a year to really look back and think “wow, that was impressive”. On this trip though the beautiful landscape and fresh air made me realise some key points about what I’m drawn to as an individual and how I would like to spend the rest of my life, preferably linking with nature. I guess I’m just not a city guy. haha
My friend has a friend who lives in Buochs, Switzerland that’s just outside of the city of Lucerne. It’s a small municipality and is well known for being on the edge of Lake Lucerne, a fresh water fjord that must be incredible to swim in during the summer months. Instead I enjoyed some skiing/snowboarding in the mountains and later took a stroll around with my friend to see the overall landscape. It was super cold but I enjoyed the natural beauty so much I totally forgot about the weather. The clouds hovering across the mountain tops was quite incredible to see.
Here are a few photos that I took, I hope you like them. The sculpture by the lake is a little eery but so cool in my opinion. Enjoy. I definitely want to visit again!
