Tofukuji Temple
Tofukuji Temple

After a long time not posting, I’d like to share my travels in the Kansai region of Japan. Around the end of November to the beginning of December is Autumn leaves, of course, so I don’t want to miss hunting for beautiful scenery. Kyoto is a famous destination of tourists for seeing the fall foliage spots, specifically temples, shrines, and gardens.

I tried to come in the early morning to escape the crowds of tourists but it was impossible because it was peak season. I had plans to meet my friend from Thailand who wanted to see the spectacular nature of this season. Where is the best place to enjoy colored leaves? I selected the Tofukuji Temple to show her because this place is a great spot to view Autumn leaves in Kyoto.

Tofukuji Temple is Zen Temple and located in southeast Kyoto. This place is well-known as a Fall foliage spot in Kyoto. The Tsutenkyo Bridge is the highlight of view, which was covered in a valley of lush maple trees. You can see the gorgeous bridge when you enter the gate.

The maple trees were yellow, orange and red, some leaves had fallen off but it was still nice.

Tofukuji Temple is not far from Kyoto City. You can take a public train about 10 minutes from Kyoto Station and then about 10 minutes by foot. Entrance tickets are 400 Yen.

I have some photos to show, hope you enjoy them. If you have plan to come to Kyoto some time, I highly recommend it.
