Here I am with the third and last part about my trip to Kotor, Montenegro.
We continue our visit in some interesting place, the church of Santa Clara, the cat museums and the church of Saint Nicholas!
Let's start with it, Saint Nicholas church it's a very charming place to visit, it's a Serbian orthodox church build in not far time ago, the early 1900, it's situated in Saint Luke square and it's inner view it's super, full of art. It's in bizantine style with a Serbian flag on it, the golden cross are a gift from Russia, it have a large collection of icons, art and crafts.
The visit it's not long but it's impressive and the incense give to it a special atmosphere, you can also buy it because have really a very particular and good smell. Perfect for meditation session.
Than we continue to another church, I'm not a big believer but I love churches and the Santa Clara truly deserve a visit!
Before it was a benedectin monastery now it's a very big church.
The sculptures in the church are a masterpiece of the Venetian artist Casabanca Francesco, the altar it's amazing a truly barocco altar .
I was really impressed when I entered in that church, it's a Catholic one and one of the most beautiful church of the city.
The third place we visited it's so lovely it's a little typical nice museum, you must know that Kotor it's the city of the cats , there are a lot of cats anywhere and this museum is dedicated to them, it's really a little place few rooms full of mostly postcards, photos, drawing and art pieces dedicated to cats,it cost only one euro so if you are a cat lover you must visit it,you will find many interesting pieces about cats, many of them in Italian like illustrations with words, some of them are really funny.
We appreciate this museum.
So many cats stuff .
Than it comes the not nice time to leave Kotor and going back to the cruise , I leave it sadly because it's really a place with a special atmosphere and many interesting things to see and experience. When we leave we know we will miss Kotor a lot. Here some random photos of the city and the cruise and the link to my previous posts about Kotor.
