Last week we went to one of the best tuscanian medieval fair in the charming village of malmantile situated in the hills not far from Florence. This village have a nice history it was builded for the medieval war between Florence and Pisa and the original name means a bad welcome because from an old legend the habitants of this village was not so nice with visitors. Actually I must admit the habitants are really nice with us and friendly.
We start our walk around the village and as first it was really too warm and we had a nice craft 🍻 beer.
Here we are happily and satisfied , most of the fair this year it's around food and beer it looks more like a food and liquor festival than a medieval one but it's good too because we really enjoyed it, there are some little markets who sell liquors and old toys or artisanal stuff and also many people dressed in a medieval way. The old liquors, mead, ambrosia, hypoocrass, wine with spices and cumin liqueur a real treat, we have tried some, especially love the mead which is really sweet.here I took the picture with the executioner who was walking quietly through the streets with his hatchets, there were some archers and some nice guys in medieval clothes who called themselves the mother-in-law killer, very niceAnd then we obviously ate and also well, we had a nice peppery beef stew and roast potatoes obviously accompanied by two excellent beers, certainly not two light and summer dishes but suitable for the context. We also added a dish full of ravioli with pork meat sauce. So yummy . We really enjoyed the festival 😌 it's really cool and we had really good time.
