Florence has always remained one of my favorite cities, I studied here for a few years and worked for a while, it took me more than an hour by train but the effort was always worth it, it's a city you can't help but love, every every time I visit it I am as enchanted as the first time. Magnificent, stupendous, magical, there are no adjectives to describe it. Florence obviously has a very long history and is full of history, art, culture and architecture. Many historical figures lived or were born in Florence, painters, writers, architects, mathematicians, philosophers. Looking at the photos on my phone I found some photos I had taken during the Christmas period in this city where I had gone shopping and I said to myself "Damn I haven't hive all this beauty yet?" and here I am to fix it. Obviously all of Florence is beautiful but the Duomo and its square are the most characteristic places, with black and white marble architecture, Brunelleschi's dome, the baptistery, the tower with the bell tower, a cathedral so imposing that it can be seen from afar , so beautiful that you stay with your nose up to admire it.

After the magnificent view of the Duomo also called the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, I headed towards the shopping streets decorated for Christmas, during the Christmas period the streets are extensively decorated and full of people and then ended up in the historic Piazza della Signoria, one of the main squares of Florence, where there is Palazzo Vecchio, the ancient civil seat of Florence, the Loggia dei Lanzi and the Fountain of Neptune, an allegory of Florentine power and the power of Cosimo de Medici, on the other hand this city is steeped in the history of the Medici, the most powerful Florentine family in history (of which I recommend the Medici series on Amazon Prime). The whole square is full of art, the loggias themselves are a riot of famous statues such as Perseus or the Rape of the Sabine Women. It's a square where you get lost because of how many things there are to see as well as all of Florence!

To then end in beauty on the Ponte Vecchio, a magnificent bridge over the Arno, one of the oldest in Florence, a bridge which is now home to many small goldsmith shops and charming little houses overlooking the river and the Vasari corridor which served as a connection between the Signoria and the other palaces for the Medici. The bridge is closed to traffic but is full of pedestrians because the view of the Arno is magnificent, the two large windows in the middle of the bridge were built by Mussolini for Hitler's visit, Ponte Vecchio was the only bridge not to be bombed During the Second World War. And here is the end of the mini tour in Florence, I hope you liked it.
