Today I want to take you on a tour of the city near my town, the place where I studied, where my parents live and where I spent a lot of time for work and study. One of the main attractions of my city is the square, called Piazza del Duomo where there is a magnificent baptistery in black and white marble, the court, the cathedral with its crypts and its frescoed rooms and some delightful bars that overlook the square .
And it is precisely in this magnificent medieval square that the Christmas atmosphere was lit a few days ago! Every year during the Christmas period there is the traditional lighting of the tree which lights up everything and also the decorations in the square, I must say that unfortunately there have been better years in terms of decorations, this year the municipality probably did not have many funds to invest to beautify the city but I still find it beautiful even if the decorations are quite simple!
The Tower with the cascade of lights is my favourite, very suggestive. But I also really like the town hall with its more classic decorations. During the switching on of the lights, Christmas music was played to create even more atmosphere, there were many people and the square was packed.
Furthermore, inside the town hall they have set up a very cute little Santa Claus village with some Christmas soldiers and a special space for writing letters to Santa Claus, a place much appreciated by children. My stepdaughter obviously also wrote the letter to Santa Claus. In the adjacent square however, that is Piazza dell 'hospital of the strain on which I wrote a post some time ago, there was a large bright gift package, perfect for warming up the atmosphere and taking some beautiful photos.
Here is a summary of the main decorations of the city of Pistoia, each street obviously has its own lights even if unfortunately many don't work! And this is a real shame! I greet you and wish you a merry Christmas!
