Today I want to take you with me on a little trip that I took to Bagno Vignoni, a place that I had already visited in the summer but which is magnificent in every season and where I always gladly return. Today I focus on one of my favorite places in this country, the spring pool, a place that I find magical, almost enchanted, fairytale-like. The springs pool, a huge natural spa pool created in the sixteenth century, with steaming waters that create a strange atmosphere suspended in time, nineteenth-century buildings and the magnificent portico of Santa Caterina overlook the pool. This place also has ancient Roman origins and it is said that the spa here was a place of water lilies. In addition to the Selle Springs basin, the whole town offers wonderful views like every corner of the Val 'd' Orcia, a Tuscan valley famous for its natural, artistic and food and wine beauties. Bagno Vignoni was a place much appreciated historically by the De Medici family. It is a small town and few people live there, about fifty, but it is very populated by tourists, some call it the little heart of the Val d'Orcia. You can visit it well in a couple of hours and after a short tour we stopped to eat in another small and typical place.

We ate a typical rustic Tuscan meal in this truly delicious shop full of typical products, "La bottega di cacio", a place that probably in the past must have been part of a rural environment but which today offers typical Tuscan flavors and smells, a traditional shop, where you can taste wines, cheese, meat, bread and other Tuscan delicacies. We took some cheeses to try more types, they were all delicious, some with a stronger flavour, others more delicate, some cold cuts also very good and tasty and two nice sandwiches, obviously stuffed Tuscan bread, everything was really excellent and tasty and the view of the shop it was really pleasant. It was an enjoyable trip and it is certainly a place I will return to.
