I'm back from the wilderness of the Cathedral Ranges as me, Rachelle and Rachelle's friends camped out over night at Cook's Mill.

I haven't camped for a while and it did get pretty cold (8C) but once that fire was blazing, things were nice and warm if you sat close enough to the fire! I had all my layers on and still woke up with a cold, wet nose in the morning!

Nevertheless, good weather was forecast for the day 14c and mostly sunny which gave us awesome views as we went up to various peaks such as Ned's Peak (could just see the view through the trees)

On the way up, we spotted the Lyre Bird which is able to mimic the sounds of its prey in order to feed, there were 3 of them en route, pretty cool!

The next uphill battle involved tackling Little Peak, which gave us the biggest panoramic of the day:

Cathedral Peak (tallest point of the ranges at 840m)

Then, after a long scramble across the ridge of the mountains, we made it to North Jaw Bone Peak with the sharp edges behind me.

6 hours 40 mins, 2565ft (781m) elevation climb, 7.66 miles (12.3km), max HR 142bpm! Legs still intact...barely!

The Thai takeaway (Chicken Pad Se-Ew) was well worth spending the money on tonight. Now it's time to rest these weary legs haha!
