170 km north of Sydney on Australia’s East Coast is one of the best Youth Hostel I have ever stayed in. We chose this place for a recent long weekend away and its great location easy walking distance to the beach, the central business district and a new parkrun for us.

I have stayed at few of these Youth Hostel places over the years but it was a long time ago. Times have changed since I last did a backpacking and hostelling trips but we was keen it give it try another and see what it was like try after 30 years

I am a Life member which used to give good discounts on accommodation but things are so completive nowadays, they can only give discounts on tours booked through them.

This old historic building has had a colourful history. Starting off as a gentleman club before becoming nurse accommodation that is situated across the road from an old hospital.

The place was not overly busy but there was the usual wide variety of accents from younger people pack packing from many parts of the world.

The shared dormities were down stair and the private room upstairs.

Looks like they have had a few different locations over the years, this one is different the best and nicely situated.

I like the old tall ceilings, makes it feel spacious and grant, though I am not really sure about the lime green colour scheme.

Walking distance to lots of great places to explore. We would happily stay there again.
