Yarrabilba parkrun is one of the fastest courses in our area. Three and a half laps of the Darlington Parklands, I get dizzy just thinking about it but multi laps and no dead turns seem to make it a really fast. Even though one side of the creek is slightly down hill and the other side up it is all gradual and you can easily make up what you lose on the uphill side. Many of my friends have their parkrun personnel bests on this course. I have tried twice to crack my fastest parkrun time here but to date my best time is still at Sandgate a totally flat beachside course on the other side of town. Yarrabilba is another newish purpose-built housing estate about twenty-five kilometres south of Brisbane, sort of on the way to the Gold Coast. Some of the locals dressed in pink and did a rubbish collection during the course set up and check. They got quite a few bags full it is amazing how much junk get washed into our creeks and waterways. It was pacer week the first time we were there. And the rubbish collected is of to the right in the photo.I like to start fast if I can.I think I was fourth overall on that day. This was on our second visit a few years later.Still no P.BThere is a great play area at the start/finish line, toilets and a shopping complex across the street for breakfast and coffee. This was my fortieth different event back in November 2019.
