80 kilometres north of Sydney on the New South Wales Central Coast is Woy Woy is a quiet and peaceful town on the bank of Brisbane Waters Lake. Woy Woy is the Guringgai (or Kuringgai) First Nations people Aboriginal name for deep water or large lagoon. We were there after a morning run in a near by town and were now looking for some morning tea to refuel and recharge. @consciouscat knows the area well and found some interesting local shops.

She tends to pick healthier meals for me than I can do myself (I always default to bacon and eggs). This morning it was poached eggs on sourdough with some sort of green leafy thing. It was tasty enough and went well with my long black coffee.

In the same area as the cafe there was this awesome, huge wooden door. I couldn’t resist, I had to take its photo.

Woy Woy’s Memorial Park and the Ettalong Foreshore had been colourfully Yarn Bombed! It was in aid of an awareness campaign for Activism Against Domestic and Family Violence. These decorated trees definitely brightened up the place.

I wonder what they do with all the wool when the campaign is over.

It must have taken a long time knit and install the yarn bombing around these ten or so large trees.

It was good just to do a short gentle stroll around the shops and along the waterfront after our run. It was cool to see pelicans as well. We don’t have that many near us at home.

We would have liked some more time in the area to check out some other Central Coast townships but that will have to be for next time.
