Officially called ”Mount Back Perisher”. We have always just called it top of the Quad. A 4 seater Doppelmayr high speed detachable chair lift can easily take you right there. This is my favourite place and chair lift on the entire resort as it is the fastest and best way to get access to just about any where else in Australia’s biggest ski resort. From here if you go right your heading to Mount Blue Cow and Guthega Peak. If you traverse left and your on the way to Mt Perisher. If you head straight down the mountain it is back to front Valley and the main terminal building.

It always feels like the top of the world up here, looking towards the Mount Blue Cow.

Heading to Mt Perisher under the short but difficult black diamond ski run called ”Olympic” Olympic in name only as Australia has never hosted any winter Olympics and I doubt we ever will. Our mountains are just not high or steep enough and do not get enough good quality snow.

But our snow and mountains are more than good enough for your average snow bum like me. This is looking straight back down towards front valley. I recon it is the longest run at Perisher but technically maybe not if you link a few other runs together to the other resorts in the group. .

Mount Back Perisher, 2014 metres above sea level, has the weirdest name of a mountain I have ever heard of. They must have run out of idea’s for names before the ski resort was even built because I have always thought it was at the front of Mount Perisher, I suppose it is just about where you access it from.
