The latest piece of infrastructure now on the Brisbane River. They reckon a bridge on this part of the river has been on the cards since Brisbane first came to be. It has taken a while but it is now finally open for use by pedestrians, bikes and of course now battery powered scooters. It should save a lot of commuting time for all the people that live in Kangaroo Point and work in town and I bet they also got a nice rise in real estate value. Brisbane is starting to look quite modern from when I first moved here about 30 years ago. I one point I was travelling and working in town most days.I love these scrap metal murals, I reckon I have enough junk in my shed to knock something up.There are now 8 bridges across the river we can walk in the central business district. One day I want to do a long run and try to link them all up on one workout. This bridge has the bikes one side which feels a bit safer than either side of the walkers like on some other bridges I have been on.Looks like a lot more work going to the river front too. I hope they build it right as this river floods pretty bad from time to time. The old Storey bridge I suppose one day the whole river might be covered with bridges or we all might be flying well before then.A jet ski tour of the Brisbane River.A view from the city side.I wonder if nature will ever over grown the new bridge like it has this fence in the Botanic Garden nearby.
