We were staying in the small New South Wales country town of Gloucester and just up the road an hour or so is the famous Barrington Tops National Park. There are so many different parts to this National Park and they all take a bit of effort to get too. We decided the Gloucester Tops Circuit seemed to be the best option for an easy day drip and walk. Usually we are up at the crack of dawn and get an early start but we have been on the go pretty much every day for weeks so we slept in a bit and had a later start. Most of the road up to the National park was dirt and we got stuck behind a slow 2wd. I was happy enough just to drop back and just left the dust settle but that meant it took a lot longer than google had said to get to the top. Being school holidays it felt busy and there were a lot of people camping. This is all part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area. The Gloucester RiverWe would have loved to have a swim as well but we had to drive all the way back to town. They have not had a lot of rain but there is still plenty of water around. The Mossy CascadesWe had planned to do the bigger loop but changed our mind and did the short out and back option to see the river and get best views from both directions.
