I had driven past the Barracks in Petrie Terrace many times when I was working in Brisbane city and spending my weekends up on the Sunshine Coast at my parent's place. I remember it well a red bricked Army barrack building, I thought it was just abandoned and empty just waiting some development. It started life as a gaol back in 1860 but soon became too small and they built another further out of town at Bogo Road. The Petrie barracks was then turned into a police Depot in 1883. It sat empty for 20 years before the government finally approved a 120 million development in 2007. The new landmark retail and commercial prescient even has its own cinema complex now which is the reason we were there. They were able to keep three of the old police buildings. We didn't get to check out much of the old buildings. This was the cinema complex.
The whole site was very close to the Brisbane River The movie we saw was about sound healing. It was a private screening of an independent show. Drumming circles, turning forks and all these high-tech machines, I am not sure it will all catch on mainstream, but it seems to help some people. At the end of the show, they did some questions and answers, then they had a demo of a Rasha scalar wave technology frequency machine. Not really my sort of think but I think my hears are a bit damaged from a lifetime of working in heavy Industry.
