I have driven past this place many time whiles I was working at the Ski Rider Hotel Motel in Wilsons Valley a long time ago. Every now and again we would see a swag covered in snow. My ski rider work mates and I would comment how hard core that must have been, it was over 20 years ago and it just did not seem done much back then. Maybe accommodation was cheaper and or the swags or camping tents were not that good or maybe it was just I was too soft. LOL.

We now have a decent swag now and have used it in a storm and freezing temperatures. They are pretty warm inside with all the right gear but venturing outside for a wee first thing in the morning can be harsh and hard. My son uses his regularly too but we we prefer a more comfortable lodgings if possible.

When we usually pass this way, we are tired and exhausted from skiing but on this occasion being early season and a lack of snow we had a chance for some extra exploring on foot.

We are keen to get back here and explore more in summer or maybe even try to spend a whole winter season down this way. There are lots more trails to hike and I would even like to learn to cross country ski. Which would mean we could drop the expensive lift tickets and cruise around under our own steam.
