Queen Elizabeth Casino parkrun was my first Q for the alphabet challenge on the 5k runner app. It was way back in 2019. About a three-hour drive south of Brisbane into country New South Wales. Casino is cattle country, one of the biggest cattle farming areas in Australia. It was hot, we slept overnight in our swag at a caravan park located at the old airport. I did a bit of a shakeout run along the old runway after the long drive and then just relaxed by the pool. Always listen to the first timers brief at these smaller country parkruns, as sometimes you do not have to run that fast and you can find yourself way out in front and not sure where to go.It was about now at the first marshal I realised I had no idea where I was going! just a couple of laps around a few ovals, sort of like a figure 8 they said! but there were quite a few ovals at this sporting complex. Luckly for the volunteer marshals and the orange post markers.Hopefully the bloke just behind me knows the way!Being up the front and only a small crowd meant I got a few extra photos. With some close behind it is amazing how much harder I put in.@consciouscat ran in minimal, zero drop shoes and other runner did one better and ran barefoot. One of their sporting ovals was being resurfaced it was if they were going to plant some sort of crop.
