It was only a short walk from our accommodation @consciouscat was at a training all day so I just enjoyed the hotel breakfast and then headed out for a wander. I have been to both these place before, but it was a while ago and I was interested to see if it had changed.Chinese New Year was just around the corner and decorations and preparations were everywhere. The Entrance to Paddy's market was just as I remembered it. I was hoping to be early and beat the crowd.Paddy's Market has been a bit of a landmark since the 1800s in Sydney its name is believed to originate from Irish emigrants that where some of the earliest traders. They still sell all the commercial tourist junk. I used to buy it as a young person, I wonder how rich I would be now if I had only ever bought what I needed and not all the stuff I just wanted. A safe little compounding interest account would have worked wonders. The whole lot was not as big as I remember, maybe I was early and was able to move through faster with less crowds. The pineapples seem expensive, but I suppose they have to come all the way down from my home state in Queensland.Chins town is just across the road.Lucky, I don't have to catch the bus home. I have only ever done one of these hop on hop off bus tours. It worked pretty well to get around and see lots of Washington DC, I suppose it would be good here in Sydney too if you had limited time.
