We have here before but it was packed out for an event. It has been on put list of place to check out properly for a while.
30 minutes drive West of Brisbane on the Oxley Creek.
I always thought this Common was just low lying farming area that easily got heavily flooded any time Brisbane had decent rain.
We first started to hear about it when the last person standing running events started to become popular.
We visited an events to see some friends who were competing. We could not check much out while the event was on so now we had the chance with a rare day off work.
I thought we would have the place to ourselves being mid week but there were quite a few people doing there morning exercises and a few groups of avid bird watcher photographers.
The Council and locals have done a great job turning this fresh water wetland area into a pleasant trail with lots of educational information boards explaining about the vegetation and wild life.
