There is nothing better than a good Australian beach. The sand between your toes and the fresh salt air, it always gives me the sense of freedom and relaxation. It is even better if your there first thing in the morning when there is not too many other people around. I have been to this beach before and I was keen to check it out again. We were staying seven and a half kilometres away, instead of using the car I thought it would be good as my weekly long run. I just needed to be back in time as not to miss the last sitting for breakfast which we had already paid for. It all seemed like a good plan until I got out of bed later than I was hoping for and was sore as from my fastest parkrun of the year the day before. Not wanting to miss out I was laced up my shoes, grabbed a quick drink, a bite to eat and was out the door as quickly as possible. I was thinking I could just turn back early if I was running short of time. Of course turning back early was never going to happen so close to a magnificent beach and headland. I was always going to push and get a photo from the lookout even if it was raining.I stopped for plenty of photos along the way which helped keep my rate rate nice and low. Looking from Norries Headland south to Maggies Beach.
