There are so many good beaches on the central coast of New South Wales. We were on our way to Sydney last summer. Norah Heads and the rock pool was a first for me it was a little crowd and hard to get a car park but as always, it is worth the effort. We had an enjoyable swim after a long drive and there was a nice cafe nearby for a drink and a bite to eat.I did not know that the word Norah comes from the word honour and or respect. Norah Heads used to be known as Bungaree's Norah after an Aboriginal elder who ended up helping the early European settlers and even sailed around with them assisting with local knowledge during a lot of the early exploring. The name was shortened in the later years; I sort of like the sound of the earlier version. I bet some of the houses around here are worth a small fortune. The rock pool was not that deep and probably no good for lap swimming but great for a splash on a hot day.We did not get to the light house, but I recon there would be a nice view from there too.The rock pool was built in the 1970s. After our visit to Norah Heads, we were off to Sydney where we stayed at Ultimo, we stayed the Metro Aspire. The inner city was a lot different to the relaxing coast. I wonder what Mr Bungaree would have thought about all this development
