So many things to check out in Singapore, Little India is one of them, a couple of kilometres East of the Singapore river and north of Kampong Glam. We were luckily enough be there as everybody seemed to be setting up for Diwali an important Indian festival also known as the Festival of lights. The Sri Verrramakaliamman Temple on Serangoon Road is right in the middle of Little India, a Hindu temple that was getting ready for Diwali.
It made the traffic chaotic, though chaos looked normal around here. Luckily we were on foot and using the subway.
It was not very hard to find the markets. There was nothing we really needed or wanted to buy. Travelling with carry on luggage only meant we could take anything home anyway.
Though I was pretty tempted. Pretty much one or two of everything here may come in handy.
The colours and noise in such a small place was amazing.
Then again I was happy enough out of the markets and felt much more at home just walking past a construction sites.
The Mastafa centre keep popping up on our travel planning research and is open 24/7 but it was just basically a packed out department store build as its own shopping centre very similar other department stores that we have at home. We decide not to eat there as the markets down the road looked way more interesting and cheaper.
We were spoilt for choice. I had another iced milo.
Lunch was massive and we needed it after all that walking and exploring.
