Between Christmas and new years we headed up to Landsborough just behind the Sunshine Coast, usually it is only just over an hour but we got caught up in peak holiday traffic. We had done a parkrun event early that morning so it meant we were later leaving home than is idea when everyone seems to be on holidays. Google even suggested we get off the main highway and use the old road. It was a good call as the highway was coming to a stand still at every interchange where the back road was slower but it kept moving. This little trip was to be our first house sit on the trusted house sitter web site. Our thinking is a if we could build a bit of a good reputation near to home it might come in handy when we are further away chasing new parkrun locations.The old coast road took us past some of the Glass House Mountains volcanic plugs. It was not our best summer weather but a bit of rain sure made it a bit cooler than it was at home for christmas.We finally made it.There is plenty to do and see in these parts but we would just be staying local for a couple of nights.I have done most of the big nearby attractions over the years like Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo, the Sunshine Coast beaches, the Hinterland waterfalls and even climbed most of the Glass House Mountains, but never really checked out to historic township of Landsborough.To tell the truth there was not that much really exciting to see.But I found an interesting Aboriginal site a couple of kilometres from where we were sating on my morning run.It was easy to see the axe grinding groves right nest to Little Rocky Creek.
