Kirra is a pretty famous surfing beach on the Gold Coast in Queensland but even when the surf is not big it still a great spot for a walk. Located just over an hour from Brisbane and very close to the new South Wales border.You can just make out the Surfers Paradise sky scrappers at the northern end of the Gold Coast. I am not sure what the boat is doing on the beach as generally there not public access, it must have had something to do with the surf club.There was a lot of grey clouds about and it was threading to rain but luckily for us it did not. Rain or Shine just about any where on the Gold Coast feels like a holiday to me. It must be all the weekends away and family holidays as a child, definitely a positive trigger place for me.In 2016 this part of the coast line became the eighth world surfing reserve. I think there are 12 around the world now. I have never surfed here and do not surf any more but still enjoy a swim and a bit of a body surf.More of those Hotels. There is nothing better than a fresh water shower after a swim in the salty ocean on a hot day.I would love to spend more time down in this area but it get pretty busy in peak season and good weather.The Surf Life Saving Club hot under neath the popular restaurant and what the surf looks like on a good day.
