We were away for the weekend. @cosciouscat was attending a business conference and we got to stay at the Manta on Salt Beach. It was a great complex right on the beach. Even better was there was a parkrun about 200 metres from there back door. This photo was taken before the run was set up. The names here gets a bit confusing as originally it was just called South Kingscliff beach but then they build this massive housing, shopping and holiday area and named it Salt. parkrun named there event after the nearest bigger town of Kingscliff, 3 kilometres to the north. The Coodjingburra Aboriginal people probably have there own name for it too. Either way or what every you might like to call it I had a great weekend and got a good run in to.The finish line to prove how close it was to where we were staying.I warmed up with a jog around a nearby play ground.Then it was parkrun time, south along the Coastline Cycleway. Just a straight 2.5 km out and back course.Fast and flat just the way I like them.There were a lot of expensive beach front houses along the course and we had a good view of Mt Warning. The first place on the east coast of Australia to see the morning sunrise.Almost to the turn around point.If you take a wrong turn you will end up on the beach.Beware of snakes and hopefully the sharks will not get you because of the smart drumlines.Some more of that beautiful white sand beach.This parkrun has been around a while as they are up to event number 541A comparison of my only other visit to this event just over three years ago.That's a lot of well done's, I must be doing something right.
