It has been a long time coming but Brisbane now has two parkruns starting with the letter J nearby. Well nearby by Australian Standards. Jeune Park is a one hour drive and Jubliee in Tenterfield NSW is just over a 3 hour drive. Both still a decent effort to visit but a lot closer than the previous option of Jindabyne in southern New South Wales which was about a 15 hour drive. We had already completed our Alphabet challenge of running a parkrun starting with each letter of the alphabet when we visited Jindabyne for a skiing trip a few years ago. (currently where is no parkrun starting with the letter x anywhere in the word). There is a story going around that a Gold Coast council actually made a parkrun course in a park and named it starting with X as a possible option and great tourist attraction but parkrun head quarters were worried it might cause a few too many problems.Any way early one morning we were off on a day trip to collect our second J parkrun.A crowd of 180 runners and walkers showed up for there second ever event.photo credit of me trying to keep up with the leaders to the parkrun volunteer photographer.
