Goondiwindi seems a long way from anywhere and no matter where you go in this Country your likely to get stuck behind a truck at some point with double white line reminding you that it is not safe to over take. Some times we just drop back and enjoy the scenery but other times after a long day I find myself praying for a hill and a possible over taking lane.Australia is mostly out back and country towns, though most of us live on the coast line near major cities. It good to get out into the Country every now and again and experience the differences.A cool kilometre distance sign board give you a understanding of exactly how big this island nation is. The only major place not on there that I can think of is Perth which google has at 3680km away.So many places I am yet to visit and see.The town centre was spotlessly clean but I was not sure what to make of the strange country pub and Christmas tree.The old bridge over the Macintyre River. They actually hold a big triathlon race out here every year called "The Hell of the West". It never really excited me swimming in the river then trying to cycle and run in the heat coupled with a 6 hour drive from Brisbane but it would be a good achievement to complete such a hard event..Goondiwindi come from the Aboriginal word meaning resting place of the birds.There were some great sculptures on the way into town as well.So that is Hi and bye from Goondiwindi.
