It was part of the old Cobb and Co Stage Coach Trail before trains and trucks really opened up the area.

There has been a lot of recent rain and it was hard to tell where the grass ended and the water started. The ducks are in the lake surrounded by a lot of weed/algae.

The Lake used to be call Cleary’s Swamp but was developed in 1975 and transformed into Lake Apex and Freeman Parkland.

There was a lot of different birdlife on the lake but I could not get close enough with my phone camera to get any decent photos.

This shows the old style railway crossing gates in the foreground, train station behind it and an old church in the background. I think they have moved it all to keep it as part of the Museum.

And that's it from the Lockyer Valley for now. We really enjoyed our visit and hope to revisit some day when we have more time. Now it's time to dream up the next adventure ;)
