Galston is about 40 kilometres north west of Sydney, we were there for event 120 back on the 12/01/2019. This was my first interstate parkrun. I had flow down to Sydney for the weekend to visit @consciouscat. I was very new to this parkrun touristing thing but it was fun visiting new places and meeting different people. Galston was a pretty tricky course three laps on the side of a hill with 75 metres of elevation gain in total. You start at the top and it is a super fast start down the left side of Fagan park. I really had to pace myself for the three up hill sections. It was a pretty nice park that looked pretty well looked after. The second lap had a extra out and back to make up the full five kilometre distance. Luckily there were plenty of markings and marshals and I had plenty of others to follow.

I did not take a lot of photos back then so lots of these are credit to the volunteer parkrun photographer and it was pretty easy to search through the Galston Facebook page and find the album that matched the date we were there.

Three laps meant I lapped a few of the slower runners and walkers. It was a good feeling to be finally back at the top of the hill for the final time.

We had breakfast and coffee afterwards at the The Local Collective in town.

Thanks to all the volunteers that made my first New South Wales parkrun happen.
