We finally ticked off another NENDY which means Nearest Event Not Done Yet. This event changed its name and starting location about 31 weeks ago and it has taken a while before we made enough time to visit and add it to our different event list. @consciouscat is now at 165 different events and I have 142 different locations. Overall I think the new starting place is much better at the newly completed sporting complex which has toilets and plenty of parking. The course is very similar to the old one using lots of the same pathway. Gainsborough is roughly half way between the the Gold Coast and Brisbane and is being build out very quickly I suppose, people like the idea of being close to Brisbane for work and can spend there weekends down on the Gold Coast. There were 119 runners and walkers for this event which felt like the perfect amount to be not too busy and crowded but enough to have a chat and meet a few new people.Well marked, pretty flat, two lap course, on a narrow ish concrete pathway.The three U turns always slow me down a bit and I find it hard to get going again but it definitely easier than a lots of hills or sand.If a five kilometre run is not enough there is always an exercise circuit you can follow and burn a few more calories.The letters in the bottom of the coffee cup seemed very fitting and I am looking forward to another new parkrun adventure.
