Dugulumba is the Aboriginal name of this river but I could not find out what that actually means any where, even after a decent goggle search. There are many different dialects of the Aboriginal Language so this word might just be localised. It is more widely known now as Logan River. Named after Captain Patrick Logan who was the first European to explore the area. I got a laugh after seeing the sign board below which had been carefully vandalised to read ”Logan Land” which the local youth like to refer to there neighbourhood.

It is a popular little fishing spot, not too fat from the river mouth so they some times get shark sighting and years ago there was a report about a crocodile.

The old bridge has been replaced by the major 8 laned motorway joining the popular Gold Coast beaches to Brisbane city.

Four lanes of motorway in each direction is definitely a big structure but not as noisy as I was expecting.

With @consciouscat away for the weekend, I had chosen the parkrun here to work on my P index. I have a P index of 7 which means I have run 7 different parkruns 7 times. If I can run or walk this location 4 more times I will have done 8 different locations 8 times.

It was a great morning for a run still being summer it was a little warm as you can tell by the sweat. I liked the Logan River parkrunners had turned all the old volunteer’s vest into a shade and wind break.
