This was all unknown to me at the time, I was backpacking around Europe, way back in 1991 but maybe that why I had the urge to visit. That and maybe I like the tall blonde types. I had a Eurorail youth pass for a month. It was the middle of winter and I was not sure if I would every make it back this way so I decide to cram as much in as possible.
I would have stayed at a Youth hostel dormitory close to the centre of town, chatted and made friends with somebody else that was travelling and then explored for a day or two. It is a shame I have no relocation at all of who every took the photos of me with my old cheap film camera. I am lucky to still have them. I didn't plan much or expect anything. I was getting out and about seeing a bit of the world. I would read a bit of the lonely planet guide then move on.
