I though Chew Valley was a great name for a farm animal property but apparently the name had nothing to do with animals eating grass. It's name was thought to have some French origins. We visited this place with some friends who had a young child, it was not far from Bristol set on eight acres. There were a lot of narrow country road to get there. Luckily I did not have to do the driving but it was great to see a bit of the countryside. They had a lot of different types of animal from all over the place not just the regular farm animals I was expecting which made for a good day out. They even had some Animals from my home country, which felt weird to see them in the English country side but they look quite at home. The Peacock remind me of a documentary I just watched on how lyre birds can mimic other bird calls.Owls look pretty big up close and this pure white one was very impressive.Capybara the largest living rodent in the world from South America.A Bennett's Wallaby with her Joey. Our pigs look a lot smaller than this type. You could feed the deer with special food from the ticket centre.I never knew South America had it's own version of an Emu or Ostrich called Rhea which is also there largest flightless bird. Some people paid extra for a close encounter. The camel was up and about on our way out.See you next time.
