Campbelltown parkrun started back in 2014, they are almost up to 600 events now. We were there for event 307 back in 2019. It was my 44th different event. We were visiting some of @consciouscats family. This area was officially founded in 1820 and was named after the governs wife who was a member of Clan Campbell of Cawdor in Scotland, it soon became prized farming land but is pretty much build out now. The Dharug and Dharawal aboriginal people were here before that. I know it as where the new toll road starts and you can bypass all traffic congestion of Sydney.I left my hat in the car on this day; I am usually worried about getting my head too sun burnt, maybe it helped me run a little faster. The finish line on a cool summer morning 24th position overall.@consciouscat ran barefoot and in a dress just for something different.Campelltown has a strong community feel and they made us feel very welcome. I would happily run there again. There is Toilets and water at the club house. From memory, I think we did coffee and breakfast with the locals at the nearby McDonnel's restaurant. This is an out and back course starting at Hurricane Drive. You run around the sports fields which is relatively flat but then its slightly downhill following a drainage ditch to the turn around point. I did 22:19 for the 5 kilometres, which was pretty average for me, I was moving much better back them. Photo credit of us running to the parkrun volunteer photographer
