An early morning long run/walk is a great way to check an area out. I had a quick look at google maps and I was pretty sure I could make all the way to Norries headland with out too much hassle, just keep the ocean on my left hand side as a make my way south and on the right as I make my way back. I started on a popular cycling path as the tide was high and I was not really up for trying to run in the soft sand but after climbing up the headland I decided to return all the way along the beach as the tide was moving out.Mount Warning behind some expensive beachside housing. It is the first place on the Australia Eastern Coast line to see the rising sun.I am not sure they need all this fancy art work sculpture along this magnificent coast line but they helped break up my long run with a few photo stops.Sun rise as I followed a well worn dirt track from the cycleway to the headland. There were quite a few surfers out tucked into bay under the headland.Middens are shell mounds built up a long period of time, hundreds if not thousands of years. I could not see much from the path and was more interested in the view from the lookout above.
