So I have been to and seen Barcelona's number one tourist attraction. We did not go inside though it might have been pretty interesting as the in Basilica de la Sagrada Familia very unique from the outside. They reckon it has been under construction for the longest time but I can not see any cranes or scaffold in my old 1991 photo. It is funny how I consider myself well travelled but there is still so much I have not seen or experienced. I suppose a bus tour of Europe in your youth is a great way to meet a few other like minded tourists and get a taste of what is out there but it does not take you much outside your comfort zone and you do not get to experience much of the local culture. I do not think we even stayed over night in Spain just in and out from two different French locations. I think the Contiki bus company must have owned or had a share in the French properties. I would love to see some more of the Spanish country side and coast line. Kilian Jornet grew up in the mountains there, a friend did a long pilgrimage hike and I have heard Barcelona even has a decent football team. I suppose it is a case of not if I get back there but when. The only other photo I took of Barcelona was one of the inner city apartment blocks. Like lots of inner city places back then it did not look that appealing but I bet it has been all done up now and worth a small fortune.
