I never thought this island has its own grandeur. I just knew that this island is known as the Mango Capital of the Philippines. That was before, until...

Located in the Southwest of Panay Island and Northwest of Negros Island in Western Visayas, lies an exotic island called Guimaras. When I had the chance to explore the place, I've realized that Guimaras has a lot to offer for the people.

Our first destination was the Windmill in San Lorenzo. The 27 wind mills are one of the major sources of electricity in the province. Next, we went to Trappist Abbey where we bought our "pasalubongs". The Trappist Abbey is different from other monasteries because this is housed by all male monks. There are also nice beaches in Nueva Valencia Guimaras and one of which is the Raymen Beach which is also the starting point for island hopping.

The province has also their version of the Ruins or also called as the Guisi Lighthouse. This is the second oldest lighthouse in the Philippines which was lighted for the first time in 1894. From the Guisi Lighthouse, take a little adventure by passing through the narrow rock wall going to the Clear Water beach. As the name suggests, the beach is literally clear!

And the magic doesn't stop there. You have to visit the Magic Island Resort and experience their swimming pool overlooking the rock island. You can also enjoy the sunkissed seawater while sipping your favorite drinks ;)
