July 18-20 I may have to split this up into two blogs. Sometimes the app gives trouble when I load too many pictures in.

Hubbards Nova Scotia has been a rather special place for our family over the last few years. Brooke and Jamie purchased a house there which they spent the past few years fixing up until they sold it in July 2025. Bill and I visited them there in 2024 and then I spent a few days again in 2025 just before it sold. There are a number of favourite haunts there and one of them is the Hubbards Saturday Barn Market. So I made the trek to Hubbards.

Inside the Barn Market. The market was a bit smaller this year. A bit disappointing but the drive around Hubbards was worth the trip.

And I got to visit Jamie’s aunt and uncle. Kathy and Dick. Kathy went to Campbellford High School with David and I. They live close to Hubbards in Head of St Margaret’s Bay.

On my last full day, Sunday, in Cheverie, I stayed local and started the day out with a coffee and pastry from this wonderful place- The Flying Apron

My new friend, Nancy 🥰 made me a perfect Americano. I went in all 3 days that they’re open - Friday, Saturday and Sunday. By Sunday I was greeted by name and my Americano was started as I walked in the door. She saw Fern pull up.

On my last day I also got a pastry to treat myself and bolster me for the packing up and big drive ahead the next day.

The owners Chris and Melissa Velden also give cookery classes and demonstrations by Chef Chris. Apparently they even offer dinner served on the ocean floor. Given how muddy it is I'm not quite sure how they pull that off

I wandered over to meet the folks who live next door. Ian and Erica and their dog Nu Nu. ( a rescue from China). They have lived here for 4 years. Retired from Gravenhurst. But she grew up in this area. Nice people and they gave me wine...
