July 21
We arrived at Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park in time for low tide.
After a very rainy evening and night and a quick tour of Rockwell Cape area we headed to Sussex where we would be staying at another Harvest Host.
After leaving the Capes, I drove through Fundy National Park in the rain. Absolutely beautiful scenery but I was glad to move on. So many trees!
On Thursday morning I got my coffee at Cobbler's, though. While I was waiting, my host started asking me questions and 2 other customers joined in with advice about what to see where I was going, asking where I'd been and where from. It was great. Really the type of interaction with local people I have enjoyed all through my trip. They were all surprised I was headed to Plaster Rock. "Was I a pond hockey enthusiast" While that seemed a question from out of left field (different sport) apparently Plaster Rock hosts the largest pond hockey tournament in the world and they have the sign to prove it. But first there were some interesting sights on the way there
Home of the longest covered bridge and potato country
I'm sitting by the fire, watching the river flow by as I'm writing this. And thinking about my time away, as it's end draws close. I have done much of what I set out to do and that feels good. Part of me would like it to continue but most of me is very much looking forward to returning home to family, friends and mostly to Bill and Luna❣️
There will likely just be one more post on my final night in Quebec- if I have descent cell service. Otherwise it will be after I'm home.
Til then
