to the mainland!

July 14

A short distance drive to the causeway and I was heading west into Mainland Nova Scotia. The west wind came out to greet me. It was pretty gusty all the way up along the Northumberland Straight.
I took a break at Antigonish again and this time I did visit Peace by Chocolate. Haven't tried it yet but it sure looks good.

By the time I turned west on the 102 towards Truro my fingers were aching from gripping the steering wheel so hard. It was a great relief to find that the wind was much gentler heading that direction. An hour and a half later we arrived at our home for the next week "By The C" Cottage in Cheverie.

Here we are!

It’s a sweet little place.

July 15-17

My second day was laundry day. Had to go to Windsor to a laundromat. There was a local gentleman there doing his laundry who was quite a talker and helpful. When I told him I planned to go the Annapolis Valley and wineries on Friday he was quite happy to suggest a few interesting ones. But before then there were some sights to see like

Like the tide going out
Like the tide going out
And out
And out
And back in again. It keeps me busy just keeping track of the tide.

The tide is on its way out so we decided to walk on the ocean floor

And climb on rocks
And climb on rocks
And study strange vegetation

And strange looking rocks.
And strange looking rocks.
And this is a tidal bore. The leading edge of the ocean tide coming down river and meeting the river coming up

When they meet it creates a bit of a whirlpool. Because these waters are always in motion moving out and in the red silt never settles.

Last night after a rain shower, from upper balcony. Tide is out.

Enough about tides.....

And this app is giving me trouble. It's not saving my entries so I'm going to end this here and finish July 17 in another addition.
Til then
