The Grand Canyon was engraved over millions of years by the river Colorado. It has 277 miles length, 18 miles width and is more than one mile high in parts. It has stunning natural beauty which exists in complete isolation. It is located at four hours from large cities of Las Vegas and Phoenix.
Most of its part is desert but it has variety of climates. It is a UNESCO world heritage site and occupies 1,900 square miles in Arizona. Despite its huge site, most of the visitors go to its south side which is heavily crowded.
Havasupai Falls is a tropical oasis and is an exclusive spot. Its unusual shade is due to presence of calcium carbonate and limestone. It is located on land which is owned by the Havasupai Indian Reservation.
There is skywalk, which is glass walkway which enables the visitors to see the dramatic 800 ft drop beneath. It is owned by the Hualapai Indian Tribe.
There is incredible North Rim within the park. It is a rare place and is seen by only 10% of park visitors. The visitors also hike from rim to rim via 25 km long hike. The hikers can stay at the isolated phantom ranch within the North rim. It is the only formal accommodation which is at the bottom of the canyon. There is no way of transportation down there, so mules bring down supplies. Booking is required 13 months in advance for the ranch.
