A walk on the Dolomites : The legend of the Rosengarten

After driving inbeetwen the overwatching giant's on the road that unite Trento with Bolzano your eyes maybe prepared for what to come once you are gonna walk in the rocky formation of the Dolomites.

And I was prepared for steep rocky road instead I walked in this beautiful and soft passage where trees and farms melted so nicely toghether, a well manteined gravel road rolled trough the hills of the highland.

The walk ended up in a little church with a beautiful view all round, it is now closed due to pandemic and could not enter it to know more.

But I didn’t came back empty handed, my travel companion told me about the legend of King Laurino, a story that served to the pourpose of explaining the pink color of the Rosengarten mountain at the dawn and sunset.
But I didn't came back empty handed, my travel companion told me about the legend of King Laurino, a story that served to the pourpose of explaining the pink color of the Rosengarten mountain at the dawn and sunset.

Laurino was the king of a dwarven population that lived in the mountains he possessed a magic mantle that grated him invisibility and a belt that gifted him with immense strenght. His treausure was his beautiful garden of Roses that shined infront of the castle. Though the king didn't have love in his life and when the King of Adige organized a tournament to find to his daughter a worthy husband the dwarven king wasn't invited. So Laurino with the cape of invisibility sneaked to the tournament and kidnapped the princess. While he was running back to the Rosengarten was stopped by the royal knights and cursed that nobody could see the beauty of his garden, not the day nor at night. And so forgetting the dawn and sunset we have now the beautiful view of the cursed garden of King Laurino.

The Rosengarten is obfuscated by the trees on the left and cannot be seen in the photo. I only had my smarthphone with me and it was getting dark.
