Cenote Azul is located about a 25 minute drive from Playa del Carmen, and the same distance from Tulum. When you drive through Puerto Aventuras, you'll see it on the right hand side after only a few miles/km.
If you're not driving there yourself, it's quite easy to get there on a Colectivo, which is a small van that will leave every 10 minutes from Playa del Carmen, or if you're coming from Tulum, it's approximately the same. The bus fare is around 40-50 pesos per person.
It's important to tell the driver to stop at Cenote Azul, because they won't just stop if you don't tell them. I usually keep my GPS on on my phone and remind the driver again just before we get there. Entrance fee to the cenote is 100 pesos for children under 8, and 150 for adult
The mangrove surrounding the cenote gives you a feeling of being in paradise. Actually, we are! It's amazing to be here. I feel so blessed!
I was testing my GoPro Hero10 to see if action photos and videos were as good as promised. So I had to try a few things here.
Here's my kiddos jumping.
This place is definitely worth a visit. It's worth the money, especially if you go in the morning. On weekdays you won't find many people there, aside from a few tourists. But there are so many cenotes, the chance that people all go to one and the same is very small. It's a great day to spend away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and have a relaxed fun day with the whole family (or alone hehe). I hope you've enjoyed this post.
