Hello my dear steemians and foodies,

Today I opened every single folder into my computer. Why? Because I wanted to! I wanted to go back in time and remember beautiful moments that I had so far! And I know you all agree with me when I say that PHOTOS are just perfect for this. Photos are memories. Photos help us remember feelings, places, people! I love turning pages of my photo albums! or in this case, clicking folders haha.

WE TAKE PHOTOS AS A RETURN TICKET TO A MOMENT OTHERWISE GONE. [Katie Thurmes]

Since you all know I'm a foodie, I chose to show some photos I took in my last trip to Greece, Thasos more precisely. It is a small island, but not so small when you're there.  Thasos's economy relies on timber (it is rich in forests), marble quarries, olive oil and honey.  And yes, I can say this is true cause I've seen them all. Marble, Timber, Olive oil, honey, it's all there people! Besides timber, I got some marble, olive oil and honey back home with me! See photos below.

Anyways, take a look to these amazing delicious greek dishes we had while enjoying the sea, the sun, the nature, everything. You definetely get connected with yourself and nature when you travel! And traveling means enjoying traditional food from that area you're in right?  I will write a short description to every photo I upload, so you can make yourself an idea, and maybe to pack your bags and go to Greece!!

Traditional Greek Mousaka, 8 euros.

I love Mousaka, I always do it at home, homemade version ofc.

Moussaka is an eggplant- (aubergine) or potato-based dish, often including ground meat, in the Levant, Middle East, and Balkans, with many local and regional variations. The most famous version of the dish today appeared in the 1920s with the publishing of Nikolaos Tselementes' culinary book in Greece. Many versions have a top layer made of milk-based sauce thickened with egg (custard) or flour. In Greece, the dish is layered and typically served hot.  [Wikipedia source]

Traditional Famous Greek Salad!

Greek salad is made with pieces of tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, onion, feta cheese (usually served as a slice on top of the other ingredients), and olives (usually Kalamata olives), typically seasoned with salt and Greek mountain oregano, and dressed with olive oil. Common additions include green bell pepper slices or caper berries (especially in the Dodecanese islands). Greek salad is often imagined as a farmer's breakfast or lunch, as its ingredients resemble those that a Greek farmer might have on hand.  [Wikipedia source here]

The three next photos are taken at different restaurants and you can see that by their's own original recipe. It costs around 5-6 euros.

Greek Pita Bread

I had it with Greek Salad. The restaurant where I served the salad also gave me the Pita. It was DELICIOUS!!!

According to Wikipedia,  Pita or pitta (British English), is a family of yeast-leavened round flatbreads baked from wheat flour, common in the Mediterranean, Middle East, and neighboring areas.  It includes the widely-known version with an interior pocket, also known as Arabic bread , Syrian bread, and other names, as well as pocketless versions such as the Greek pita, used to wrap souvlaki.

Grilled Bass with Fries and Salad

It was delicious and it costs around 12 euros.

Sea Bream with Roasted Veggies

The price was 26-27 euros. The bream was freshly brought from the fishermen that day we serve it. It tasted really good and it was pretty authentic.

Another Bream, but this was only 13 euros, compared with the first one.

Fresh fruits on the beach!

This is my favourite! I had this pretty much every day. If you ordered food/drinks for 8 euros minimum, they would have rent you 2 lounges and one umbrella on the beach FOR FREE! We always did this. So my favourites were Fresh fruits and Orange Juice! Also some Greek Coffe!

Gyros

A gyro or gyros is a Greek dish made from meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie. Like shawarma and tacos al pastor, it is derived from the lamb-based doner kebab. In Greece it is now most often pork, or chicken, while a mixture of beef and lamb is common in the U.S. and other countries. It is usually served wrapped or stuffed in a flatbread such as pita, with tomato, onion, tzatziki sauce, and sometimes french fries.  [wikipedia source]

The price for one of this was 8 euros and they would served it on the beach.

Ice Cream

Some Ice Cream I had in Limenas, the Thasos's Capital. It costs around 7 euros. I chose some with cinnamon, mocha and nuts. Something like that, I can't remember exactly.

Grilled Octopus

The photos down below are from different locations, both had prices between 11 and 13 euros. It is very common here. They are pretty delicious.

Pizza

Pizza in Greece! Yes, it can be! I tryed everything, from local greek food to pizza! And I don't regret it. Napoli Pizza is my favourite food, so I would eat anything that looks exactly like it. Like this pizza I had also in Limenas, Thasos's main city. It was a beautiful night, beach walks and some pizza! It costs 11 euros, in the heart of the city. And I ordered a Limonade also here. Very refreshing and delicious!

Chicken Breast Fillets with Fries

Price: 9 euros

Yup..... it's exactly like it is! A BURGER!

I can't say it was delicious because it wasn't. It was meahhh. It wasn't mine, but I tryed it to taste it!:d SO, I'm Not GUILTY!!! Loved the potatoes though!! Yummy wedges on the side. Btw, the price was around 7-8 euros.

Shark Fillets

This is a main dish of Grilled Shark Fillets with Fries and a bit of salad, around 10 euros.

Fish Soup

Fish Soup, very delicious. It was 5 euros, a very big portion I would say.

Roast Lamb with Fries, 10-11 euros.

Baked Peppers, at 4 euros portion.

❤️❤️❤️

I think it's enough with FOOD Photos. Don't you think?

Now I wanna show you some landscapes from Thasos. They are BREATHLESS! I love Greece forever!

Greece it's one of the countries you wish to go back always and always!

Deep blue waters, white or golden sand beaches, fresh fruits, trees and beautiful nature, wonderful and warm people, amazing landscapes, breatless sunrises and sunsets.... It's what defines Greece!

Just one trip to Greece and it will be forever in your heart!❤️❤️ I'm so lucky to leave 'near' this beautiful country. Me and my family come here every year. There are infinite places to visit. One life is not enough!

Thank you for reading, dear steemians!

Wish you to have beautiful moments whereever you are! First of all, People are important, not the places! We build memories with friends, family and the loved ones. All our travels wouldn't be the same if we would not have someone to share them with. :)

Love for you,

Miss Deli
