Are you in a hurry now? Although you are, please stay here for a moment. It is possible that you would like to visit a small Italian town whose name you may have never heard of, but you don't have time... Well, it's not a problem, the solution is coming. If only I talk a little less and stop stealing your time, you will be able to visit this town, located near Cremona - and all just in nine minutes. That's how long it takes to walk from one end of Seniga to the place where you have already left the town at the very other end, and reached a bridge and a river that is worth visiting.

Nine minutes, I say you. It was also what the navigation said when I checked from the hotel room before going to this little walk through Seniga. For no specific reason, we booked in this town to rest on our first day of driving back to Spain. It was afternoon when we arrived here but I still had a few hours to look around. (hours were not needed as you see, just minutes 🤣)

Anyway, it was a nice walk among these huge old houses. I felt like a dwarf seeing some of these tall buildings... Or was it just the Italian tradition to build houses this way? And who lived here? If you have seen the house in the first photo (ok, I will wait if you have to scroll back to see it again, we will be fine with time - it all enters in our nine-minute tour) and the huge main entrance... from the second photo? So, here I entered because I was curious to see the yard. There was no sign of trespassing prohibited, just beware of dogs. This is what I got to see, standing in the hall and looking toward the huge space in the yard:

At first, I thought that this palace was a part of the house where I entered (and I couldn't stay for a long time as two big dogs started to bark 😳) but checking on Google Maps I realized it had some connection with this facade:

Behind this yellow building with the huge wooden gate, framed with white columns and spikes on the top of them, there is a garden which is connected to that building I called "the palace". I still don't know who lived here and what history could be told by these old walls.

Maybe we should continue our touring if we want to stick to the nine-minute walk. I saw several other really old houses in Seniga.

Did you spot the cat?

This one was close to the river and also looked like a castle or a palace.

Is this a dead-end street in Italian style? I don't think so as there is a gate at the end and someone would open it if I went there and knocked. But I didn't as my walk would last longer than the promised quick tour.

Churches! This town, this small as it is has several churches, four as far as I can count. (plus one outside of the urban area). Please, correct me if I am wrong, as I spent some time trying to find out the names of them and realized there are only two parishes in Seniga. One is S. Maria Annunciata parish (outside of the town so I didn't go there) and the other parish is this huge one, S. Vitale parish which for me looked like two churches, one on top of the other.

The smallest one is maybe just a chapel.

The sun intensified the yellow colour of the tower.

No luck in finding the name of this last one.

Here we arrive at the end of the village. You see how quickly we did it, maybe it took me a bit more minutes than the navigation said as I stopped to take some photos but here in Hive the time passes faster. We are efficient tourists. 😁

But let's see what is behind the town. The bridge and the river that I wanted to see when I checked where I should walk in this town.

This is the river Oglio. It made quite a loud music running quickly under the bridge. If I had a more adventurous spirit, I could try to go down to that small sandy beach that can be seen on the other side.

Instead, I went back to the town and searched for a restaurant or food store (no, there was none open 😂).

Later, almost two hours later I came back to this bridge once again. My son also wanted to see the little churches and the river so this time I got different photos. The tower seems to be of a different colour now. I doubt someone painted it in the meantime. 😂

Looking at the other side of the bridge this time... the day was sending its greetings and prepared for the proper rest.
