2 days ago I posted about the Kek Lok Si Temple in Penang, which is definitely not to miss. Another amazing sight in Penang is the Bukit Bendera - as it is called in Malaysian - the highest spot of Penang Island.
The best thing to do is combining a visit of both places: Kek Lok Si Temple and Penang Hill as they are just a few minutes away from each other (at least the railway station to get to the top of Penang Hill).
Here are some impressions:

How to get to Penang Hill
There are two ways to get to the top of Bukit Bendera: taking the railway or hiking up the mountains. As my time was limited (and it was just too hot), hiking was not an option for me. The railway is obviously the fastest and most convenient way to get up there. But you will have to be prepared for long queues, especially on weekends and holidays.
Entrance to the railway
As mentioned in the Kek Lok Si post, you can take the bus 204 from almost anywhere in George Town. Once at the railway station, you will have to buy a ticket for currently 30 Ringgit (about €6,50 or $8). If you don't have too much time to queue up, you can also buy a fast lane ticket. Once you passed the queue and finally got into the railway, you will be on top of the hill about 5 minutes later.
