On my last trip to Phuket, I visited some new places again. Phuket has more to offer than just Patong and since I've discovered more of Phuket, including places outside tourist areas, I like the island more and more - unlike my very first visit.

Today we head to the south of Phuket - more precisely to the small island Koh Bon near Rawai.

With the scooter we started from Patong, because we visited friends who were on vacation there. Via Kata, a stop at Karon Viewpoint and Windmill Viewpoint, we went on to Rawai. There you do not have to search long for a long-tail boat and you can usually start right away. We negotiated a price of 1200 baht for the round trip and were already 15 minutes later on the island.

I would have expected a nice, but also very full island. After all, it was peak season on Phuket and I've been prepared for masses of people on the beach. To our surprise, it was quite manageable and we could easily find a shady spot on the beach.

You can swim and snorkel really well and there are some colorful fish in the turquoise water. You only need to swim out a few meters. If you get hungry, there is also a restaurant on Koh Bon, which we did not try. Probably the prices are much higher there.

After some nice hours on Koh Bon and a short drone flight with the Mavic over the island, our boat driver picked us up as agreed on the beach. Finally we went to the famous Promthep Cape for sunset. Here - and this did not surprise us - it was extremely crowded and the people were brought in whole buses. Nevertheless, the sunset here is always nice to look at.
