Hello everyone, Welcome to my travel blog. Recently I posted only my fun and adventure journeys. Because that was improved my physical energy. But I have visited more historical locations in my country like as temples. But I shared only few locations already. I'm a real Buddhist man and I didn't forget to do religious purposes yet. So every poyaday when reach to us I'll worship to our leader. So today I decided to share most historical temple name called *Potuvil sea temple.*
Located in Potuvil, Ampara Administrative District, Eastern Province of Sri Lanka. A temple with archaeological value near a large beach area. We selected Galle Ampara bus for reach Potuvil. We went there through going Ampara Potuvil. Sea temple very easily find because it has built very close to beach.
Cactus plants grew in abundance in a semi-arid region. Also few of palm trees grew in this beach area. The sun light directly reached on the floor without any barriers. I thought that was blessings of the nature.
Before entered to the temple I captured dagoba of the sea temple from various angles.
There was statues of monks.Sea temple is an ancient Buddhist temple. I have seen in the history books that this temple was built by King Kawantissa 2000 years ago. I walked front for discover what's another ruined things.
Look at what I found inside of the sea temple. Wait for the clear capture.
There was a statue of Lord Buddha and two statues known as gods or past rulers. I saw a carved stone statue house and stone pillars here.
This is a stone pillar but at first glance it looks like a canoe. But the assumption was wrong because it is small in size.
>*There is a history that can be proven by approximately 1300 years of written evidence. It is said that Princess Vihara Maha Devi, the daughter of King Kelanitissa, had drowned in a ship after the sea had recovered. This was the first time that King Kawantissa, who ruled the area, had come to this class after the arrival of the princess. The Mahavansa mentions that King Mahadathika established the Potuvil sea temple in the eighth century.*
We leaved from temple land and walked though beach area. The sand was very hot with sunlight. There are biggest area surrounded by the sand.
Then we looked Indian ocean since Potuvil beach. But you can see some of garbage has everywhere in this picture. Lot of people come to this location for their leisure activity or religious purpose. But I can't accept like these bad habits of them. I saw there are dustbins provided for put garbage to it. But some bad peoples lazy and find easy tasks always.
Finally I captured stunning photo click. That was marvelous creativity of the nature. Blue color combined with ocean waves and sky. Potuvil beach very close to popular Arugam-Bay. So I think above boat was safari one bring foreigners who were interested sea safari. Thanks for visiting. See you again.
