Cosan Reserve Serving Unique Flavor of Coconut Water With Espresso

With Starbucks being boycotted throughout the country, there are many big names coffee shops attempted to mimic Starbucks Reserve. If you didn’t know, Starbucks Reserve is basically a special Starbucks offering more than just regular coffee. More often than not, they have specialty menu as well as experiences that you otherwise wouldn’t find over regular Starbucks. More often than not, pricing at the reserves are also quite a bit more pricey than regular Starbucks. One chain that also attempted to build a fancier spot like Starbucks is Cosan. I don’t know much about the origin of the company but it seemingly started in Yogyakarta and has a few stores around the city. I only tried their coffee a few time and it was pretty okay. So, since I was trying to find something new around the city, I ended up checking out this place Cosan Reserve.

Cosan Reserve is located inside a 4 stars hotel, Harper. While the location is already quite fancy, unfortunately, the place itself is quite so-so. It is not as cozy as Starbucks reserve and they still have a lot to learn especially when building a table that is intended for sharing. They aren’t properly spaced and sitting there felt like having someone invaded my space and privacy. Another negative thing about the space is that there are many empty spaces with laptops on their table. It is pretty annoying because people aren’t actually there while there are customers struggling to find seats inside the place.

Their menu while pretty standard, they actually have some menu that aren’t available anywhere other than their Reserve spot. Like the one above I ordered.It’s called Coco Capp which is basically cappuccino like but with coconut water. I think these days coconut water added into coffee creation seems to be making a comeback. I have spotted this menu in a few more trendy coffee shops. Honestly,it isn’t bad and I love that this makes into the spotlight these days. With the coffee, I ordered a panini like sandwich. It was pretty decent and actually better than Starbucks since it was from local bakery. For some reason, I think food from starbucks is scam except, their croissant that I think is best and just quite Okay for the price offered. It’s also a lot cheaper than most croissant in bakery shops.

While my overall experience wasn’t bad but it was the price that made me consider to go twice. With the same price, I could go to a better place and more quieter spots especially if I want to get something done. If I am just hanging out with a friend, this would be a great place to be.
