Hallo liebe Community,
ab heute möchte ich Euch die nächste Zeit von meinem Trip am letzten Wochenende nach Salzburg berichten. Meine Frau und ich haben uns dort eine kleine Auszeit gegönnt. Die Anfahrt mit der bahn war problemlos, nachdem wir aber im Vorfeld 2 mal umbuchen mussten, weil unsere Züge einfach gestrichen wurden. Deutsche Bahn halt, wer kennt das nicht?

Über Stuttgart, Ulm ( vorbei am Ulmer Münster, der höchsten Kirche Deutschlands ) und Augsburg fuhren wir mit dem ICE nach München und von dort mit der Regionalbahn weiter nach Salzburg. In Salzburg angekommen fanden wir uns auch sogleich an der schön weihnachtlich dekorierten Bushaltestelle ein um mit dem Bus in unser Hotel zu fahren, das ca. 10 KM außerhalb im Stadtteil Wals lag. Schon auf der Busfahrt konnten wir auf der Brücke über die Salzach das schöne Salzburg bewundern.

Von unserer Austiegsstation waren es dann nur noch 200 Meter bis zu unserem Hotel, dem Wellness Hotel Gerl. Ein wunderschönes Hotel mit traditionellen und aber auch modernen Anklängen. Im sehr schönen Eingangsbereich konnten wir direkt bei einem glas Sekt einchecken, mussten dann aber noch ca. 20 Minuten warten, weil wir vor der Check In Zeit da waren und das Zimmer noch nicht ganz fertig war.

Im zimmer angekommen waren wir sehr angetan vom Ambiente und der Ausstattung des Zimmers. Im Erdgeschoss gelegen mit direktem Zugang zum Garten und der Poolanlage, die aber nur bis Ende Oktober geöffnet hat. Aber trotzdem wirklich sehr schön alles und der Blick auf das Hotel war von hier aus auch spektakulär. Ganz oben im obersten Stockwerk konnten wir schon den Wellnessbereich sehen, den wir an unserem Ankunftstag noch ausgiebig nutzen wollten.

Nun waren wir zumindest angekommen und unsere Auszeit konnte richtig starten.

Hello everyone,

Starting today, I'd like to tell you about my trip to Salzburg last weekend. My wife and I treated ourselves to a little getaway there. The train journey was straightforward, although we had to rebook twice beforehand because our trains were simply canceled. Typical German Rail, who hasn't experienced that?

We traveled via Stuttgart, Ulm (passing Ulm Minster, the tallest church in Germany), and Augsburg, taking the ICE to Munich and from there a regional train to Salzburg. Upon arriving in Salzburg, we immediately found ourselves at the beautifully decorated Christmas bus stop to catch the bus to our hotel, which was located about 10 km outside the city in the Wals district. Even on the bus ride, we could admire the beautiful cityscape of Salzburg from the bridge over the Salzach River.

From our bus stop, it was only a 200-meter walk to our hotel, the Wellness Hotel Gerl. A wonderful hotel with both traditional and modern touches. In the lovely lobby, we were able to check in right away with a glass of sparkling wine, but then had to wait about 20 minutes because we arrived before check-in time and the room wasn't quite ready yet.

Once in the room, we were very impressed by the ambiance and the furnishings. Located on the ground floor, it had direct access to the garden and the pool area, which, unfortunately, is only open until the end of October. Nevertheless, everything was truly beautiful, and the view of the hotel from there was spectacular. On the top floor, we could already see the spa area, which we planned to use extensively on our arrival day.

Now we had finally arrived, and our getaway could truly begin.
